The Greenwood and Phinney Ridge gym guide: one avenue holds seven rooms, and the ridge above it holds none

One avenue, two names
Greenwood Ave N runs a straight line through north Seattle for close to three miles, and the neighborhood splits its name along the way without any change in the pavement. South of about N 80th, storefronts call the block Phinney Ridge. North of it, the same avenue becomes Greenwood. The boundary shifts depending on who names it, block association or business license, and the street itself carries no marker for where one name becomes the other.
Phinney Ave N runs along the west side of the ridge past the reservoir and the zoo, the street the neighborhood actually takes its name from. It carries houses. The seven training floors in this guide sit east of it, on the commercial spine of Greenwood Ave N or one block off at N 85th, inside a stretch that covers under a mile end to end.
The 6700 to 7600 block
The Bar Method, Seattle Phinney Ridge, 6726 Greenwood Ave N. Barre work built on small isometric holds, cycled through low reps at the ballet bar until the target muscle fatigues. New clients get 30 days of unlimited classes for $79. Standing pricing runs on class packs, 13 classes for $78, six dollars a class.
8 Limbs Yoga Centers, Phinney Ridge, 6801 Greenwood Ave N. A block north of the Bar Method, same side of the street. Hatha, vinyasa flow, restorative, and prenatal classes run on a published studio schedule, in person and by livestream. Drop-in costs $28 in studio, $17 by livestream, $15 for the early morning slot. A ten class pack runs $220 and expires in a year. Monthly unlimited on autopay costs $140, two month minimum. New students get three weeks unlimited for $69.
Vitality Pilates, Phinney Ridge, 7216 Greenwood Ave N. Reformer, mat, jumpboard, and suspension work on the Bodhi, sold as group classes and private lessons. A single group class costs $40 drop-in. A two week trial runs $99. Monthly unlimited membership costs $349, three month minimum. Ten class packs run $369 and expire in six months. Private lessons start at $115 each.
Seattle Strength & Performance, Phinney Ridge, 7408 Greenwood Ave N. Personal training paired with group strength and conditioning classes, sold together. Class only membership, cancel anytime, costs $299 a month for unlimited classes, $199 for eight, $169 for six. The gym's own pricing page lists a twice weekly personal training package, bundled with unlimited class access, as its most booked option. A new client trial runs $99 and includes a movement assessment, an introductory session, four personal training sessions, and unlimited class access for the trial period.
CrossFit Phinney Ridge, 7601 Greenwood Ave N, Suite 100. Barbells, kettlebells, rowers, wall balls, rope climb stations, and box jump platforms, run as group programming capped at 12 per class. The gym's own site notes it stays open for scheduled classes only, with no walk-in floor hours outside the timetable.
N 85th, two doors apart
TITLE Boxing Club, Seattle Greenwood, 112 N 85th St. One heavy bag per person. Class runs a warmup into eight rounds on the bag with a recovery break between each, closing on core and strength work off the bag. The club requires gloves and wraps for every session, and sells or rents both on site.
Half Moon Bouldering, 124 N 85th St. The same block as Title, a few storefronts down. Bouldering only, no ropes, across 5,000 square feet of wall split into six zones that reset on a six week rotation. A 2016 Moonboard and a campus board cover the training wall. Membership includes yoga classes, and the gym rents shoes for class sessions. Hours split by day: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8am to 10pm, Tuesday and Thursday 7am to 10pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am to 7pm.
Where the ridge goes quiet
Phinney Ave N itself returned no training floor in this count. The zoo end of the ridge, and the blocks north of Greenwood past N 90th toward Broadview, turned up no address with a working site to confirm it as open. One listing near the 10200 block of Greenwood Ave N never resolved to a working website. Another business at the south end of Greenwood Ave N brands itself as a Fremont location on its own site, despite a Greenwood Ave N street address, so it stays out of a Greenwood and Phinney Ridge count. A yoga studio long listed at 8551 Greenwood Ave N now runs livestream only, with no studio address posted anywhere on its own site. This guide leaves all three out rather than guess. The seven rooms above cover a stretch under a mile long, and past N 76th on the avenue, past N 85th on the cross street, the corridor goes quiet.
Street by street
Greenwood Ave N carries five of the seven: barre at 6726, yoga at 6801, pilates at 7216, strength and conditioning at 7408, CrossFit at 7601. N 85th St carries the other two, boxing at 112, bouldering at 124, both on the same block, one off the avenue. Nothing on this list sits more than nine blocks from anything else on it.
The split between the two rows runs by training type as much as by geography. The avenue holds the low impact floors, barre, yoga, reformer work, next to the strength and conditioning rooms. The cross street at 85th holds the two highest impact floors on the list, the bag room and the bouldering wall. A membership on Greenwood and a stop on 85th covers most of what the ridge and the avenue below it currently offer, on foot, inside a mile.
